Are you ready for a change?
What is an LPN?
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are medical professionals who have completed a program, sometimes in as little as 12 months, culminating in passing the national licensure exam (NCLEX-PN). LPNs are often front-line caregivers in nursing homes, extended and skilled care facilities, rehabilitation centers and community settings.
Benefits of becoming an LPN
High demand occupation
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (2018) reported that employment of LPNs is expected to grow 16% by 2028, faster than the average for all occupations.
LPNs have the unique advantage of being marketable across multiple healthcare settings allowing you the ability to really see where your interests and strengths lie.
LPNs have opportunities to quickly move up in ranks, often supervising nursing assistants.
Faster entry into nursing
The average salary of an LPN is $46,240/year and programs can be completed in as little as 12 months. With a smaller financial and time commitment, you have the opportunity to pursue your RN or BSN with a solid foundation while earning more as an LPN while you go back to school.
